About JamPro

Twenty years of varnishing, one standard

From a Caribbean upbringing around wooden boats to the superyacht docks of Palma de Mallorca, the story behind the finish.

The founder

Tony “Jamrock” Nicholas

Tony grew up in the Caribbean, where wooden boats are maintained out of necessity rather than fashion, and where a finish has to survive relentless sun and salt. He went on to found his comany, JamPro, in 2001 and has spent the years since applying that hard-won discipline to classic and modern super yachts around the globe.

Tony still works on the tools and Captains consistently comment on the same things: meticulous preparation and set-up, deep product knowledge, and a genuine love of the craft that shows in the last coat.

Around him is a dedicated, highly trained team who share Tony’s exacting standards and pride in the finish.  They can scale from a single, carefully matched repair to a complete deck programme, bringing the skill, reliability and onboard experience needed to work around demanding yacht schedules.

How we work

Four things we don't compromise on

Preparation first

Most varnish failures are preparation failures. We give the sanding, filling and sealing stages the time they actually need.

Clean sites

Containment, dust control and daily clean-downs, so other trades can keep working and the yacht stays presentable.

Honest schedules

We quote the coat count and the days it takes, and we finish inside the window we agreed.

Aftercare

Every handover comes with a maintenance plan so the finish gets topped up before it ever needs rebuilding.

Where we work

Palma home port, worldwide reach

Mallorca is home, and most of our work happens across Palma's yards and marinas. But brightwork doesn't wait for the yacht to come back, we follow the season to the Caribbean, across the Med, and further afield when a programme calls for it.
